"I am a professor emeritus of biochemistry from SUNY, Stony
Brook now retired in Dallas Texas. For the last six years I have
worked in a hands-on science enrichment laboratory in a local K-6
elementary school. I also teach in the biology program at UT Dallas
during the spring semester and I advice high school students working
on science fairs.

I would like to introduce some simple experiments using zebra fish
appropriate at each level. I welcome any suggestions and instruction
from persons who have had such experience. I wonder, additionally,
whether there is anyone in or near Dallas or in North Texas whom I
can contact for such help."

"Your timing was fantastic! Two days ago, I was talking to my
research advisor about basing more of the physiological research
on vertebrates (i.e. zebrafish) and he was coming up with all sorts
of things to use them for. After I graduate (from high school),
he's going to take my lab (an abandoned darkroom I cleaned up
and supplied with tanks, fish, and reagents) and turn it into a
permanent fish room. So, it looks like zebras are going to start
taking a pretty important role around here, and we'll need
everything we can get..." (Note: Joe Kuper, address below, is her
research advisor)

I am a high school biology teacher that has just begun to work with
zebra fish and I'm hooked. They are perfect for classroom use.
Since this is my first year working with them, I have lots of
questions. If you know of other high school teachers who are using
zebras in the classroom please give them my address ldizer@gps.edu
because I could use some advice. Thank you!

"I am teaching a Marine Biology/Limnology course next year at East
Jefferson High School. I discovered your very informative Zebrafish
site on the net and as a result have decided that the zebrafish will
be an excellent animal for my students to study. I can imagine all
kinds of fascinating activities that my students could use to study
this fish (e.g. Microscopic studies of embryos, culturing the
various organisms for feeding them, analysis of the water, breeding
them, etc.) But I have several questions that may help me in
getting started..."
